  • Can You Help Us Sell Our Item?
We offer a service called a seller’s consultation, during which an appraiser will give you advice about how to go about selling your artwork.  We do not purchase items that we appraise. Clients should be weary of any appraiser who desires to purchase that which he is appraising because his opinion could be biased. Occasionally, however, we do take items on consignment as a courtesy to clients for whom we have previously conducted research.

How can you decipher a reproduction from an original?
Even an experienced eye can sometimes be fooled without the proper resources. It is always best to consult a professional appraiser.

I don’t want to spend a lot of money on something that is worth less than the appraisal cost.
A verbal evaluation is a good option for those who do not know the value of their item. This is a conservative-cost service we provide, after which you can decide whether or not to pursue a full appraisal report.

I have a lot of paintings and antiques to be appraised as well as a house full of items that might be worth something. Where do I begin?
The first step in this process is calling to set up a verbal evaluation.  One of our appraisers can come to your home and advise you on the value of your possessions.  With this information, you can then decide the purpose of your appraisal  (ie. liquidation, insurance coverage, etc.) and we will assist you in taking the next steps.

I have works of art that have been in my family for generations. Recently, I was offered a sum of money for my things. How can I know if the offer is a fair one?
Before any sale or donation takes place we suggest that you consult a professional personal property appraiser who can provide you with an accurate estimate of the value of your possessions.

If I bring an item into the office, do I have to leave it there?
No.  Most inspections require only a brief amount of time on site and the remainder of the research can be done from photographs. In certain instances however additional inspection and testing might be necessary.  In this case the client has the option to release the item(s) into our possession for a period of time to perform additional research.
